Summer Camps 2022
For 6 – 18 year olds across the autism spectrum
The Help Group is pleased to be able to offer in-person enrichment camps this summer for 6 to 18 year olds across the autism spectrum. Campers will be grouped according to their needs and peer-level and placed into one of three camp programs – Village Glen Camp, Camp Sunshine, or Teens on the Go. This intimate camp experience, located on our Sherman Oaks campus, will provide a fun, safe, and stimulating environment for all!
** Note that as of today, masks will need to be worn by all campers during indoor activities.
Village Glen Camp
Village Glen Camp is a specialized social skills camp for autistic children and those with other social challenges ages 9 to 15 with mild support needs. Our campers are motivated to learn social, friendship, relaxation and coping skills, while having fun with peers who are like them! Village Glen Camp utilizes evidence-based and field-tested curriculum to promote social skills development, stress reduction, and allow for the formation of new friendships.
An exciting and well-rounded schedule of themed summer activities includes:
- Role/Play Drama
- Outdoor Games
- Creative Arts
- STEM Activities
- Field Trips (depending on COVID regulations at the time of camp)
Campers will develop core strengths in: Social thinking, teamwork building; mindfulness; anxiety reduction; friendship skills.
Campers will need to be interviewed to determine if our camp is a match for them. They must be able to function independently in a group setting, have conversational speech/communication and refrain from engaging in behaviors that may be harmful to themselves or others.
Camp Sunshine
This popular program is for campers ages 6 to 16 who have moderate developmental challenges. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals oversee a creative summer camp designed to help each child reach his or her highest potential and develop unique strengths and abilities. Our campers enjoy fun and enriching activities in a safe and nurturing environment. We group campers by age and ability and maintain a high counselor to camper ratio to maximize individual attention.
Our fun and engaging schedule of themed summer activities includes:

- Music
- Games
- Art
- Nature
- Drama
- Water play
- Cooking
- Special Events & Field Trips (depending on COVID regulations at the time of camp)
Campers build confidence and self-esteem, practice important life skills, and take steps toward independence while making new friends and having fun.
Campers will need to be interviewed to determine if our camp is a match for them. Campers must be toilet trained, be able to participate without one-to-one support, and refrain from behaviors that may harm other campers, staff or themselves.
Teens on the Go
The Help Group is pleased to offer Teens on the Go, a community based social and recreational summer program for 15-18 year olds with mild support needs, during the weeks of June 27th-July 1st and August 8th-12th. The program features daily field trips and activities throughout Los Angeles focusing on fostering independence and friendships. Note – Space is very limited. Campers will need to be interviewed to determine if our camp is a match for them. Campers must be able to safely travel with a group and maintain safe behavior out in the community. They should also be able to function independently within group settings, have conversational speech/communication, and refrain from engaging in behaviors that may be harmful to themselves or others.

Week 3: $480 (prorated amount due to no camp July 4th)
